Opal and Ruby Class

This half term we have been very busy in Reception! We have enjoyed learning lots of different things in maths, especilally 2D and 2D shapes. We went on a special shape hunt to see the different shapes we could see all around us. 

We have been learning all about food in English and have loved sharing lots of differerent books together. 

After reading 'Handa's Surprise' we were inspired to create our own fruit kebabs. We carefully wahed and prepared the fruits before putting it onto the skewers. They were yummy and healthy! 

We enjoyed being detectives looking for clues to see who has trapped the vegetables! We then had to work very hard to create our own wanted poster to ctach the Evil Pea. 

To celebrate Bonfire Night we made our own chocolate apples.

We carefully melted the chocolate and then dipped our apples into the bowl before putting sprinkles on top!

We have also been learning about size in maths. We enjoyed lookng at different objects and sorting them into groups of small, medium and big.
