Quarry Bank Mill
Date: 10th Jul 2024 @ 2:09pm
In June, Year 5 visited Quarry Bank Mill as part of their Victorian topic.
Whilst there, we enjoyed a full day of activities. The children learnt about the jobs that they would do in the mill if they were alive during the Victorian times. They were also shown all of the machinery in the mill that was used and how it worked. The children were also told about the many dangers that could occur whilst working in a mill at that time and they were told about how they would be treated by the employers there.
During our visit we also visited the Apprentice House where the children took part in a role play activity with the leader there who checked whether they would make good apprentices at the mill or not.
Every group also had their own guide who was very knowledgable and we learnt a lot from them.
It was a very informative yet fun day and all the children did the school incredibly proud with their behaviour.
